Whew!!!

I was starting to get really nervous that my website was not working and I just handed out hundreds of cards at the Bridal Show today! It seems as though it is working now, if you continue to have trouble please check back and message me on here to let me know.

I will be hosting and Open Gallery at the Mariott Residence Inn Baton Rouge Towne Center at Cedar Lodge 7061 Commerce Circle Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70809. I will have Boudoir Portraits on display as well as wedding photography so take the time to come on out.

I am hosting an Open Gallery on August 10th from 2pm – 4pm at the Mariott Residence Inn Baton Rouge Towne Center at Cedar Lodge 7061 Commerce Circle Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70809. Some of you may have received an invitation today at the Bridal Show but if you were unable to attend or did not get one I would love to see you at the Open Gallery. I will have many prints and albums on display, including Boudoir Portraits! This will be a more intimate setting where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet other couples. I will be there for 2 hours but you can come and go at anytime.

July 27th Bridal Show

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show on July 27th at the Baton Rouge River Center (Centroplex). The show will be from 12 – 4 and their will be lots of great vendors there. So if you have ever wanted to have a chance to meet me in person and see more of my work now is the perfect time! I am going to be in booth 515 which is located to the right of the stage. Hope to see you there!

Change is a coming…

As previously mentioned I will be changing my business name and I have just about everything done except for this website! I will have that completed by the end of the week so I hope everyone comes back to check out the changes. It is a little different than the last layout with some color changes and a new logo and of course new pics! I am really exicted about all of the new things going on.

Also in my last post I mentioned that I would have a big announcement coming soon… well I am pleased to announce that I am in the works of opening a studio! It is going to be a new building so the plans are still in the approval stage but we are hoping to be able to start building soon. It will be located on Veterans Blvd in Denham Springs. This has been a long time dream of mine and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity! I will keep you updated with pics and info along the way.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be changing my business name from Melissa McKnight Photography to Melissa Cannon Photography. As some of you reading this know my husband passed away in October 2006 and after a lot of thought I have decided to go back to my maiden name. It was a personal decision and one that I feel will make things easier on me in the future. So tell everyone you know that Melissa McKnight and Melissa Cannon are one in the same! What’s the old slogan “New name, same great service!”.

Boudoir Portrait Shoot

As promised this year will be filled with new and exciting things and here is the first. I have scheduled my first hotel Boudoir Portrait Group Session for March 29th! It will be held at the International House Hotel in New Orleans. I have 5 sessions scheduled for that day so there should be lots of images to show. I plan to have one in the Baton Rouge area shortly after so if you are interested please let me know as the spots fill up quickly. I will start out with a one day session with 6 spots available so if you are interested in receiving information on this send me your email address.  These sessions are personal and private and no images will be shown without permission in writing. I am so excited about these sessions and can’t wait to see the response to them.
